Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Server Assistant with F&B 575 at Aman New York will maintain all dining room environments and equipment, assist servers, anticipate guests’ needs, and address them accordingly.
This position has an hourly compensation rate of $15.00 plus tips.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Check assigned stations before, during, and after shifts for proper setup and cleanliness
- Responsible for the completion of designated side work checklists (both opening and closing)
- Responsible for keeping the dining room floors free of debris and spilled liquids
- Bus tables and re-set tables for the next guest. Pick up clean linen for service and drop off soiled linen for washing to the determined area
- Always provide excellent service to all our guests
- Assist guests courteously and efficiently
- Maintain the cleanliness of the dining room and station at all times
- Keep chairs and banquettes clean and clear of debris
- Handle customer requests promptly
- Set up a side station with sugar bowls, water pitchers, bread, butter etc. as established in the side worksheet
- Ensure all silverware is polished and spotless
- Follow the cleaning program for the restaurant established in the side work sheet
- Upkeep and clear tables between courses throughout the meal
- Delivery of food from kitchen to guest’s tables, including tray service
- Assist in setting up tables according to floor plan
- Anticipate guest needs, as to where guests will never have to ask for anything
- Attend all food and beverage training classes when requested
- Wish every guest a warm farewell and thank them for coming
- Must be aware at all times what type of water each guest in their station is drinking
- Make coffee, tea, and hot beverages for guests
- Place all to go food in appropriate containers
- Attend daily pre meal/communication meeting
- Attend monthly department meeting
- Communicate with all servers and server assistants in a professional manner
- All other responsibilities assigned by Management
QUALIFICATIONS
- Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
- Willing to work a flexible schedule and holidays
- Be a self-motivator and motivator of others
- Work in a safe, prudent, and organized manner
- Have good knowledge of food and beverage preparations
- Be able to relate to all levels of guests and management
- Have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
- Have excellent communication and organization skills
- Maintain a clean and healthy personal hygiene and grooming
- Be able to consistently delight and satisfy our guest
- Have the ability to handle guest requests in a detailed manner
